Cancellations/Changes/ Fees

CHANGES TO RESERVATIONS

Cali2way allows you to make changes to a reservation up to three times:
   a. Online by the ‘Modify/Cancel’ reservation page
   b. By calling the Internet Helpdesk

No modification administration charge will be made for changes made online. Cali2way reserves the right to charge an administration charge for changes made by calling the Internet Helpdesk.

3. Any change to a booking made online or through the call centre will be recalculated based on the availability and prices at the time the change is made. This may be greater or lesser than the price originally booked. This applies to changes made to:

   a. Drop off location
   b. Pick up date and time
   c. Drop off time and date
   d. Vehicle group
   e. Airline and flight number
   f. NeverLost
   g. Child seats
   h. All other additional products

4. The lead customer name and the pick-up location on a reservation cannot be changed. If you wish to change the lead name or the pick-up location, then you must cancel the reservation (see below “Cancellations”) and make a new reservation.

5. You will be asked to enter a valid credit card number at the end of a change to a prepaid reservation. This MUST be the same credit card that was used for the original reservation. If you wish to change the credit card, then the original reservation must be cancelled (see below “Cancellations”) and a new reservation made.

6. If no cars are available for the location and date requested, then you will see the message: ‘No cars available at this location for this date or duration’. You should try to change the dates or location for pick up.

7. If no prepaid rates are available for the location, date or other requests made, the customer will see the message: ‘No prepaid available’. If you see this message, you may cancel the original reservation (see below “Cancellations”) and make a new reservation if a non-prepaid rate is available.

CANCELLATIONS 

 1. Cali2way allows you to cancel a prepaid reservation before 24 hours by:
   a. online by the ‘Modify/Cancel’ reservation page
   b. by calling the Internet Helpdesk

2. A full refund of the prepaid reservation will be made

3. Refunds will be processed automatically after the cancellation and will be made to the debit/credit card used for the original booking.

NO SHOWS/LOST RENTALS
 
 1. If you fail to cancel your reservation prior to the Pick Up Time and do not collect the vehicle on the Pick Up Date, or if you fail to comply with the pick-up terms, we reserve the right to make a No Show/Lost Rental Charge as per table below which recovers our administration costs and compensates us for our inability to rent the vehicle when it was reserved for your use. Cali2way charge $75 for a No Show/ Lost Rentals.

2. A guest who shows up to a trip with no license, with an invalid license, or who sends their additional driver in their place is also a guest no-show

3. If a guest fails to cancel and doesn’t show up for the trip within 30 minutes of the trip’s scheduled start time, it’s a guest no-show

CHANGES AT TIME OF PICK UP

If at the time of vehicle collection, you wish to rent a larger car or rent for a longer period, you may do so, subject to availability, on payment of additional charges. Such charges will be quoted in the currency of the renting country and may be at a higher rate than those previously quoted.
 
EARLY RETURN

Please note that we are unable to give a refund if you return the vehicle early.
  
LATE RETURN CHARGE

Cali2way provides the best service to give an easy and enjoyable rides. Please note that we charge an amount of $9.99 per hour for a late return.

CLEANING THE CAR BEFFORE RETURNING

You aren’t expected to clean or disinfect the car before returning it to your host. That said, if you return the car in a condition that only could have been caused by irresponsible or abusive behavior, your host can report the issue. Our support team will review the evidence — if it clearly shows an eligible cleaning issue, we’ll charge you a cleaning violation fee of $99.

We charge a violation fee for the following eligible cleaning issues:  

  • Biowaste or bodily fluids 
  • Spills or waste that requires cleaning inside of vents or between the door panel and window.
  • Major stains or residue that covers a large area of the vehicle’s interior and would require steam cleaning or a full detail.
  • An extreme amount of caked on mud, dirt, sand, or insects that requires  professional-level exterior detailing
  • Significant amounts of pet hair 

Parking/ Toll Roads/ Violations

When you book a car that is parked on the street, you must return it to a legal street parking spot where it will not be subject to ticketing or towing for a period of 24 hours after the scheduled end of the trip.

  • Check all posted parking restrictions, tow zones, permit parking zones, and street sweeping times.
  • Check your front and rear bumpers to make sure they’re not extending into a driveway, crosswalk, or color zone.
  • Be careful with metered parking — if there is a time limit, a host may not be able to retrieve the vehicle before a ticket is issued.

You’re responsible for paying the cost if the car receives any tickets or is towed within the 24-hour window following the scheduled end of your trip.

Tickets/Violations

You’re responsible for paying the cost of certain tickets incurred while your trip is in progress and in some cases up to 24 hours after the trip ends.

Responsibility for tickets

You’re responsible for tickets that result from illegal driving while your trip is in progress. You’re also responsible for parking tickets and related fines received up to 24 hours after the trip ends, including costs related to towing or impounding the vehicle due to improper parking. Exception: You’re not responsible for tickets related to the car itself (e.g. tickets for tinted windows, “fix-it” tickets, or tickets for lapsed insurance).

Distance included in trip
How much distance is included in my trip?

The total distance for Cali2way is 500 Mile per day, If you exceed the distance limit for your trip you will be charged $15 per mile.

Paying for fuel or EV charging
You’re responsible for returning the vehicle with the same amount of fuel (gas, diesel, petrol) or charge it had when you picked it up. If you don’t, you will be charged $65 for sedan car and $75 for an SUV car.

Documenting fuel or charge levels
Make sure to take photos of the fuel/EV gauge before and after your trip, and a photo of your fuel receipt that clearly shows date, time, number of gallons/liters, and cost. Failing to provide evidence will lead for a full charge.

Refunds
The amount and timing of a refund depends on the specifics of your circumstances. Once Cali2way initiates a refund, you’ll need to allow extra time for your bank or payment issuer to process and return the funds to you.


Cancellations inside the free cancellation period
We’ll refund the full amount if you cancel during the free cancellation period — 24 hours before your trip starts or one hour after booking if you booked less than 25 hours in advance. Cancel your trip on the Cali2way Website.

  • We base the cancellation period on the vehicle’s time zone
  • If you change your trip in any way, the free cancellation period is still tied to the original booking time

Cancellations outside free cancellation period

We’ll refund you in part if you cancel outside the free cancellation period depending on trip length. We’ll always refund your protection plan, any Extras, and young driver fees in full.

Security Deposits

Cali2way’s system automatically charges a security deposit for certain trips based on the trip’s details and other factors.

Security Deposit Costs

How much a security deposit costs varies based on the country of your booked trip. If you’re required to pay a deposit, we’ll outline the cost and display it on the checkout page before you submit your trip request. We’ll process the deposit as a separate transaction from the trip cost. Cali2way security deposit will cost $100 per car.

Security deposit will be fully refunded if you meet Cali2way criteria with 24-48 hours. Please allow 5-7 business days for your bank to process the refund

Cali2way Sales Tax

As tax laws requirements, Cali2wayis required to collect tax for all rented cars. If you are exempted from sales tax Cali2way can’t exempt your account from tax. Here is what you can do:

  • Request a sales tax refund by emailing Calitwoway@gmail.com with proof of exemption and trip reservation number
  • We’ll verify your exemption and, if eligible, issue you a refund.

Cali2way Offers Cars to Your Desired Location Within The San Diego Area

Cali2way offers delivery to travel hubs like airports, train stations, and hotels, or to custom delivery locations. A delivery fee may vary depending on location and distance from San Diego International Airport
